This iconic hotel offers close access to Colombo’s attractions, making it easy to explore the city before the tour officially kicks off.
Spend the evening relaxing or exploring Colombo’s vibrant streets, shopping malls, and cultural sites. Get your camera ready for the adventures ahead!
On day two, you will travel to Udawalawe. Your first stop will be the Elephant Transit Home, where you can witness the heartwarming sight of baby elephants being bottle-fed. This is an incredible opportunity for close-up photography of these gentle giants.
In the afternoon, embark on an exhilarating jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park, home to a large population of wild elephants. Capture elephants in their natural surroundings as they roam freely through the park. Your accommodation for the night is at the Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort, where you can relax and review the day’s photography.
Start your day with an exciting early morning game drive at Udawalawe, beginning at 6:00 a.m., where you'll have another opportunity to photograph elephants in their natural habitat.
Later, head towards Yala National Park, arriving in time for the afternoon jeep safari at 3:00 p.m. Yala is renowned for its rich wildlife, so be ready to capture deer, leopards, sloth bears, water buffalos, and more. Make sure your camera is always at hand!
Your accommodation for the night will be at Leopard Nest, a luxury campsite in Yala. On day four, rise early for another game drive in Yala, followed by an afternoon jeep safari at Bundala National Park, known for its incredible birdlife. Finish your day with one last morning safari at Yala before heading to Mirissa on day five.
On day five, after another early morning safari in Yala, you’ll head towards the coastal town of Mirissa. Check into Sri Sharavi Beach Villas and take some time to relax. The following morning, set out on an exciting whale-watching tour in the Indian Ocean, where you’ll have the chance to photograph majestic blue whales and dolphins in their natural habitat.
The rest of the day is yours to unwind by the beach and snap stunning sunset photos along Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Mirissa is known for its iconic Coconut Tree Hill, a popular spot for capturing panoramic views of the ocean.
The following morning, before heading to Negombo, you'll visit two fascinating stops:
The historic Galle Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, where you can learn about conservation efforts and see baby turtles.
Upon arriving in Negombo, you'll embark on an evening boat safari at the serene Muthurajawela Marsh, known for its rich biodiversity. Afterward, check in to Jetwing Blue for a relaxing overnight stay.

Frequently Asked & Question
The best time for wildlife photography in Sri Lanka is during the dry season, which runs from May to September. This is when animals gather around water sources, making them easier to spot.
While safaris allow you to get fairly close to the animals, safety is a priority. All photography is done from a safe distance to respect the wildlife and avoid disturbing their natural behavior.
We recommend a DSLR or mirrorless camera with a telephoto lens (200-400mm) for wildlife shots. Also, a wide-angle lens can be useful for capturing landscapes and larger scenes.
While night safaris are not included, your accommodations at Yala and Mirissa offer beautiful nightscapes, perfect for capturing the stars or nighttime settings. Always carry a tripod for low-light shots.
Yes, the tour is fully customizable. If you want to focus on specific wildlife or locations, our consultants will tailor the itinerary to suit your needs and interests.
Expect to photograph a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, and an array of bird species. You’ll also have the chance to capture whales and dolphins in Mirissa.
While there are no formal workshops, our guides are experienced in wildlife photography and can offer tips on camera settings, angles, and techniques to help you get the best shots.
Comfortable, neutral-colored clothing is recommended for safaris to blend in with the surroundings. Light, breathable fabrics and sturdy shoes are ideal for the warm climate and outdoor activities.
Sri Lanka's weather can be unpredictable. If it rains, we’ll adjust the schedule to make sure you still get the best photography opportunities. Always carry weatherproof camera gear and covers just in case.
Absolutely! The tour is flexible, and if you wish to extend your stay to explore more wildlife or landscapes, we can arrange additional days or excursions based on your preferences.
