SriLankaGetaway.com – Booking Terms & Conditions

All tour planning, organizing, and execution are carried out by SriLankaGetaway.com on behalf of our guests and travel partners. The term “SriLankaGetaway” in these terms refers to Sri Lanka Getaway Tours.

1. Confirmation of Booking

Your booking with SriLankaGetaway.com becomes confirmed when we issue a written confirmation after receiving the required deposit. Please check the details in your booking confirmation carefully and report any discrepancies immediately to our team. Ensure that all names match exactly as they appear in the relevant passports.

For all bookings, including tailor-made holidays, a 50% deposit is required upfront to secure your booking. After full payment, a Confirmation Invoice and Travel Voucher will be issued, confirming all reservations. Full payment is due at least 7 days before arrival. By making the deposit, you acknowledge and accept our booking terms.

Payment Notes:

  • Initial payment is required at the time of booking.
  • The client is responsible for all bank charges when making a bank transfer.
  • There are no hidden fees, postage fees, or booking fees. Exchange rates are based on the Central Bank of Sri Lanka at the time of booking and are non-negotiable.

2. Cancellations

a) Cancellation by SriLankaGetaway.com:
We strive to provide exceptional service and maintain high standards, but SriLankaGetaway.com reserves the right to cancel bookings due to Force Majeure (see below). In such cases, we will refund all money paid and, where possible, offer a comparable alternative. However, we are not liable for any incidental expenses or losses you may incur due to a cancellation by us.

b) Cancellation by You (Client):
You may cancel your booking by notifying us via email. Cancellation fees, based on the timing of the notice, are expressed as a percentage of the total price paid for the tour:

  • 60+ days before arrival: 100% refund (less any transaction fees).
  • 30-59 days before arrival: 95% refund.
  • Less than 30 days before arrival: 90% refund.
  • 7 days or less before arrival: No refund (non-refundable).

In the case of group bookings, each individual is equally responsible for any cancellation costs.

Special Circumstances:
In the event of a government advisory or health warning (e.g., a pandemic or civil unrest) that prevents travel to Sri Lanka, we will offer a 100% refund if the cancellation is made 21 days prior to arrival.

3. Itinerary Changes

a) Changes by SriLankaGetaway:
We make every effort to maintain the integrity of your planned itinerary. However, SriLankaGetaway reserves the right to make adjustments to your itinerary in the case of unavoidable circumstances, such as overbooking or emergencies. Any necessary changes will be communicated to you promptly, and we will strive to provide an alternative of similar or superior quality.

b) Changes by You (Client):
Requests for changes to a final itinerary will be considered, but additional costs may apply. Any modifications must be discussed and agreed upon in advance.

4. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations due to Force Majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters, political instability, terrorist activities, civil unrest, fire, extreme weather conditions, or any situation beyond our control. In such cases, we will endeavor to refund any recoverable costs, but we are not responsible for any additional losses, including travel expenses.

5. Accommodation & Services

We guarantee the accommodation and services as described in your itinerary based on your package. However, once confirmed, hotel and service changes will not be entertained unless required by external circumstances, and any change will incur additional costs, borne by the client.

6. Personal Safety & Responsibility

Your personal safety is our priority. If a government advisory against travel to Sri Lanka or any part of your itinerary is issued, we will provide full refunds under the conditions outlined above. Clients must ensure their fitness and health prior to traveling and must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions that may affect their trip. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone whose health condition or physical capability is unsuitable for certain tours.

7. Travel Insurance

All travelers are required to have valid travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, loss of baggage, and personal liability. SriLankaGetaway is not liable for any personal loss, injury, or illness during the tour, and you must seek assistance through your insurance provider in such cases.

8. Special Requests

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate any special requests (e.g., dietary requirements, room preferences) but cannot guarantee they will be met. Special requests must be confirmed in writing at the time of booking.

9. Personal Loss, Injury & Illness

If you or any member of your group suffers from loss, illness, injury, or death during your holiday, we will provide assistance where possible, but we are not responsible for compensating such loss or damage. Clients are advised to seek assistance through their insurance provider.

10. Price Guarantee

We guarantee that the prices of your holiday will not increase except in cases of government-imposed taxes or exchange rate fluctuations, which may cause small adjustments. We will notify you of any such changes in advance.

11. Liability & Negligence

SriLankaGetaway accepts liability for negligence or any proven error during the planning and execution of your holiday, provided that we are directly responsible for the arrangements. However, we are not liable for third-party service providers, nor for any incidents resulting from unforeseen circumstances.

12. Independent Travel

For bookings not fully managed by SriLankaGetaway (e.g., accommodation-only packages), we are not liable for any failure of services such as hotel bookings, transport, or other arrangements for which we are not directly responsible.

13. Legal Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and any legal disputes will be resolved under Sri Lankan law. Disputes will be handled through appropriate legal channels within the jurisdiction of Sri Lanka.

By making a booking with SriLankaGetaway, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
